It’s official! Manchester United has finally confirmed that AON Corporation will be their new shirt sponsors starting from the 2010 / 2011 season. Which means AIG will go on until the end of next season as United’s shirt sponsors; therefore making it possible that the new away shirt we posted here on Footballfevr could be legit. Click here to see it.

Although the terms of the deal have not been announced but it is believed the lucrative deal will be worth £20m per year for the four year partnership.
Here’s a statement from United’s chief executive David Gill:
“We are delighted to be entering such an important relationship with a company of the stature of Aon and to have its logo adorn our shirts from the start of the 2010-11 season.
“We look forward to being closely aligned with the world leader in risk management, a firm which shares our values and is an exciting partner for Manchester United. Today’s announcement clearly strengthens our position as one of the biggest clubs in world football.”
“It is a unique opportunity when two leaders in their respective fields can come together in a partnership such as the one we are announcing today,” added Greg Case, president and chief executive officer of Aon.
“Manchester United has one of the most recognised sports brands in the world. David and his team are all about winning and about excellence; the same holds true for the Aon team. We play to win in our business, and that is why we believe this partnership will create tremendous benefits for both organisations worldwide.
“While we are delighted that our brand will be showcased to the over 330m fans of Manchester United as well as the countless followers of football worldwide, we also are extremely excited about the opportunity to maximise the value of this partnership globally.”
United had been looking for a shirt sponsor ever since financially troubled AIG company announced that it would not be renewing its £14m-a-year deal which expires at the end of the 2009/10 season.
Till later.

The kit linked to the article is accurate, though it’s obviously not the away one like it says, but the home one. And if you still don’t believe it, check out this official leaked Nike image of the new United kits. ***dude, it’s not cool to go around posting your links on blog without permission***

Now that 59% of the supporters are saying that they are likely not to get a new season card, which is the record in the premier league i can’t imagine what will become with the club, it’s all about profit for the Glazer family, they keep forgetting that the fans are not happy and that is the most important thing imo.

We are so worried about who owns the club, and who should be the new owners, we never stop to think about the reality. Glazers own Manchester United. No one can buy it out unless the Glazers want to sell it. Thats the fact of the matter.
New kit (for me) doesnt look great. It could be better. BUT that being said, no matter what MU wears, they will still be the best club in the world.
Watch out rivals… MU is coming to take back what they want…
