So, it happens we’ve been featured on Soccerwires.com on a very cool post where Muzi, the editor of the site compares two blogs.

He’s interviewed me about FOOTBALLfevr and Ash my friend from SaFootballFans about his blog. This is actually my first time being featured on any blog, so I’m quite stoked. The interview revealed some cool fact’s about the site that you might wanna check out, so be sure to head over there. It’s a comparison between the two football blogs and you can vote for the blog of your choice. Click here to check out the interview

Oh, and thanks to everyone who voted today, we are still leading with votes at the moment. ;)

Till later…

  2. Calvin Says:

LOL, We demand 2/3 majority, hehehhe

  3. Ash Says:

Seriously though, It was awesome to be featured on another blog and It’s great that we can “co-exist” despite being each other’s ‘competition’

  4. Calvin Says:

Very true Ash, I guess it’s a good thing

It would be great to extend the partnership into offering packaged advertising to potential advertisers. This will enable brands to reach a wider audience as opposed to only sell your blog…which has limited traffic. That is the approach ad networks employ, whereby if a potential client is a bank, they’ll then sell them traffic from all their business blogs in their portfolio…so what prevents bloggers from working together for the same purpose? There is strength in numbers.

With that working relationship our blogs will easily be monetised and grow quite quickly. I believe we’re not like taxi owners, who believe in killing a competitor, there is an opportunity to work together.

    It’s about time…

  6. Calvin Says:

Great idea Muzi, I think it can be done, what about you Ash?

  7. Ash Says:

Interesting idea! I like it! Where to from here?…

  8. Muzi Mohale Says:

I think, getting more soccer blogs involved would be ideal…

    1) Each blog present it’s own rate card together with Google Analytics downloaded stats…it’s data is industry accepted.

    2) Get an ad server facility which you’ll use to serve ads. http://www.openx.org is free of charge and accepts various campaign formats like images, banner codes etc. I tried OpenX before, found it too be too complex and use http://www.adbutler.com though it comes at a premium.

    3) Agree on rates per impressions.

    4) Once all the important information has been gathered, create a unique landing page for the ‘ADVERTISE WITH US’ page which will then be integrated in each blog.

    5) Create various banners which caters for all the banner sizes offered, where each blog can slot into promoting the advertise with us page.

All the above will be a team effort and in the long run will benefit all involved.
