Wow, Bafana has a new jersey for the World Cup, the guys at shine2010 posted a picture of a model wearing the new jersey and I must say I find it better than the current one, not because its bad but I just love this one:

What do you think? Leave you comments

i’m not sure about the model, doesn’t look like a socer player at all. lol
March 19th, 2009 at 10:56 am
Hey what’s wrong with the model?
March 19th, 2009 at 11:28 am
he’s too pretty, he looks like he would fall over if the ball even came near him. lol
March 19th, 2009 at 11:30 am
I find it very dull…in fact all bafana kits are!
March 19th, 2009 at 11:45 am
Eish Muzi, heheheheheh, that’s cold man
March 19th, 2009 at 11:46 am
i think the new kit got a facelift and it looks great. not to sure about the model looks like hes rushing for the bus/taxi.
March 19th, 2009 at 11:53 am
@JayX
Eish you guys seriously have an issue with the model, maybe that’s why Muzi doesnt like the Kit
March 19th, 2009 at 11:56 am
Calvin, let’s not be politically correct here…these kit sponsors don’t do us any justice. Compare the kits locally with our counterparts internationally, you’ll notice a vast difference on the innovation. ours is just leftovers…
March 19th, 2009 at 12:00 pm
@Muzi,
Harsh truth, but I have to agree with you, you look at Kaizer Chiefs’ Nike jersey with a painted emblem and then compare it to the Jersey Arsenal uses, its just bad! Sponsors should be doing better now, our league is ranked within the top 10 leagues in the world…
March 19th, 2009 at 1:15 pm
Sorry Calvin but it looks outdated to me. Not very creative in my opinion.
Hope we wont be playing in this kit at the World Cup.
March 19th, 2009 at 1:42 pm
“Ash,
I feel you, but do u think the current one is better than this one?
March 19th, 2009 at 6:55 pm

March 19th, 2009 at 10:16 pm
Hey Luccas, long time no see man, how’s Brasil?
Anyway thanks for seconding me on the Bafana jersey, I was starting to think Im crazy or something….
March 21st, 2009 at 7:56 am
@Calvin
I agree that its definitely better than the yellow kit that we had before, and I’m starting to like the new design.

Bring back the old jersey from the 1996 African Nations Cup. That was a classic which im sure everyone remembers, and we actually won something in it.
March 21st, 2009 at 6:30 pm
@Jonas
I must agree with you there partially, we had a lot of Success with that jersey, maybe now it could just be a question of style…
April 1st, 2009 at 1:46 am
Didn’t they make a long sleeved version of this Jersey? our boys looked very cold in Switzerland…
April 23rd, 2009 at 8:39 am
I think the one before this one is far much better.
April 23rd, 2009 at 8:56 am
@Bongz,
Yeah you might have a point, I just think it’s a good change…
June 5th, 2009 at 9:01 am
I certainly think the one before this one was beutifull and stylish. bring it back.
June 10th, 2009 at 3:54 pm
@Khs
LOL he looks like a beefed up Darren Simpson hehe…
The jersey would look 100x better if the pattern were not that visible. Although I’d prefer rigid (straight) lines like the ndebele patterns (which I learnt in primary school haha)…
June 10th, 2009 at 4:13 pm
@Jon, after the game on Saturday, I think i’m gonna get me one, i like it
July 8th, 2009 at 11:40 am
it looks terrific to me
July 17th, 2009 at 2:34 pm
I THINK THE JERSEY IS GOOD , BUT ITS GOOD TO PLAY ONLY FRIENDLY GAMES , THE NEW JERSEY SHOULD BE MADE FOR 2010. I WARN PEOPLE WHO COMPLAINS ABOUT THE MODELS, THE MODEL DOESNT HAVE A PROBLEM , IF THEY CAN DEPICT A FOOTBALL STAR IT WILL TOO EXPENSIVE, SO THEY ARE TRYING TO SAVE MONEY.
July 28th, 2009 at 12:01 pm
what a waste of material and labour cost.i think the last jersey was a killer, give this one up for donations to local teams lol
August 5th, 2009 at 11:21 am
I still insist that nothing will ever replace the 1996 kit. Hope we can design something of that kind. Just a personal feeling.

The Jersey is not very bad, however as a former National Team footballer for my Country Malawi, I believe a Jersey that depicts your Country Colours will be a great motivating factor to your game spirit. The jersey has to Colours only that is Yellow and green. I dont mean you need all the colours on your flag to be the whole Jersey. You need to add something like a big flag of South Africa on the left hand breast of the Jersey and another sizeable on on the shorts alternately to the position on the Jersey. Every player will know who he is fighting for. I have hope in South Africa despite mountains you have been encountering this far in your preparations.

This has become a BIG IDENTITY MESS ….
SAFA could have maintained the 1996 Kit (Jersey) … it looked so cute with golden, white and black stripes with diagonal borders … have a look at:
