Orlando Pirates have made their point very clear that they are not throwing the white towel without fighting to finish the league in the top three bracket of the PSL log.
This was after they unkindly crippled high flying Ea la Koto on Saturday evening at Coca Cola Park in Johannesburg.
In form striker Siphelele “Shaka Zulu” Mthembu gave the Sea Robbers the lead in the second half, after the buccaneers constantly terrorized the defense of Steve Khomphela’s charge.
The win shot Ezi ka Magebhula up a few places to the top of the most unpredictable league in the PSL history. Although their performance was not entirely convincing, if what we saw Pirates doing on the field is anything to go by, we can certainly be on the wait for the resurgence of HAPPY PEOPLE playing their best football in South Africa.
The ghosts started the game with Destin Makita commanding the defensive midfield post, supported by Benson Mhlongo and captain fantastic Lehlohonolo Seema.
The Congolese international settled in well, neutralizing all the offensive attacks of Free State Stars. Lesotho international Seema was a constant nightmare for ‘lier’ and wayward striker Sithembiso Ngcobo who was a shadow of himself throughout the match (no wonder why there is no more romance between him and Santana).
Teko “the general himself” Modise did not do much as he is believed to run like a ‘demon’ only for Bafana Bafana. Although these talks are starting to gain credibility judging by the way that the diminutive soccer maestro is under performing at club level, it is safe to start suspecting his commitment to the Club of Cornel Irving Khoza.
Has Teko suddenly become too big to play at Pirates or locally? I salute Benni for being outspoken when he said that our players become too big even before they have achieved zero. What has Teko achieved? ‘lutho/fokol’! oh… he is McDonald’s 2010 ambassador.
Any objections? Let’s talk.

I beg to differ where you saythat Pirates ran rampage of Stars. It was the other way, Stars was unslucky not to score a goal. They had a lot of chances to burry Ezimnyama ngenkani.
On Modise, you are 120% right. he is the shadow of Teko that plays for Bafana Bafana. South African players are spoiled. They think that they are the best when we shower them with praises and stop doing what they were doing in the first place.
We need to come up with solutions to this problems because they kill the spirit of the team in such a way that we become complacent on the field of play. If he continues this way, does he think that the teams abroad will take note of him? They will say that he will do that when we bring him to the team while when he is called for that national taem, he will perform wonders. He must wake up and smell the coffe.

@Isaac, I agree with you on that Pirates were not totally all over Stars, Stars where unfortunate.

If truth be told….that slim-kat had a good game, probably his best game in pirates colours. He made a number of crutial saves.

@8…3…1 , I agree man, he had a brilliant game indeed

Makita performed very well in the holding position. He wanted to neutralise the fast boys from Free State.Horror of horrors the coach pulled him out and it began to look like a goal will come against Pirates anytime.Kamwendo palyed brilliantly on the flank. It is not that Teko is not working hard enough. If there is a shadow everywhere he goes,he hardly will enjoy trapping and some space.Every other player knows the man needs no space to breathe.I support KC but I have to be honest that teams plan around him and so does his own team. That is a little more than he can bear.Slimkat had a good game, but he has his bad games and in those he gives away easy goals, but really, hats off for him on the day!

@Mbodi, I’e just listened to Rob’s show on metro and the was a caller, I could swear the caller was one of FOOTBALLfver community members, he said the exact things that the article says about Teko and Rob cited flu as the reason of Teko’s performance, but the point is that most of the time he performs below par for Pirates said the caller.

People must remember that Teko is not a machine. He has an intelligent foot and a good manifetation of unique skills, but he can be marked and can be off form.International football and club football differs in moree than one ways. The technical aspect of the game is in a higher level or so is the expectation.Capable players relieves the burden from him and he can do better in an enabling environment. He cannot be nailed even when he is trying harder. However,I wield no excuse for him,he still needs to exert and surely he can do better.People just need to know that we have to be balanced when flaying him(if we should)

Whenever Pirates is on a winning streak, I just think of that year when they all had stomach bugs at the same time and they were top of the league. Those memories always bring tears to my eyes. But they say lightning doesn’t strike twice.
